Please checkout my diet and let me know your thoughts about popcorn?

Without getting into Micro's, below is my diet.

Morning: 1-serving of flavored oatmeal or cream of wheat

Lunch: Starbucks Ice Cafe Mocha (large) with 2-extra shots of expresso, non-fat milk, and no whip cream. The caffeine keeps me going without feeling hungry until around 6pm.

Dinner: 1/2 bag of lettuce with 1-serving of low fat shredded cheese, 1-serving of chicken, 1-serving of croutons, and 1-serving of dressing. I alternate between ready-made chicken (popcorn, buffalo, bourbon, honey bbq that come in a bag) which is 190cal for 1-serving. Dressing is the highest calories at around 190 calories for 85g, which i alternate between various low fat versions. Crouton is around 45 calories etc.

Evening Snack: Later in the day, i will have a second salad with a different combination of the ingredients from Dinner.

Misc. Snacks: If i get hungry, i will snack on a handful of dried cranberries, green olives or croutons.

_______________________

Anyways, i bought a hot-air popcorn maker. And its abouit 120 calories for 40g of kernels. This makes a large bowl full.

I am going to eat it a few times a day, as a snack. Without any salt or butter. But, i was wondering if that may cause any problems with my diet? High carbs? High sodium? High something????

I have been following this for about 1-month and i have lost a total of 24lbs.

do you HAVE to have the starbucks? If you really need caffeine that bad, you could always get caffeine pills. this will give you the boost from starbucks but save you loads of money. just don't overdo it on the pills. or if you absolutely want starbucks, they have a double-expresso shot in there little open fridge thing by the counter which is cheaper then your large starbucks.

Why do you care how much the guy spends on Starbucks? I drink a venti skinny vanilla latte occasionally and there is nothing wrong with it. It's milk with sugar free syrup and espresso. It's about 160 cals with around 15 g of protein. What's wrong with it?

Starbucks... or just coffee in general, is not a meal.

Food is a meal.

Like IronBrendan said, more protein, fruit and veggies. You're seriously short on nutrition your body can actually use.

Popcorn is a fine munchy snack BUT if you're feeling the need to snack on stuff, it's probably because what you're eating now is not giving your body what it *really* needs and wants. You should snack on more protein, fruit and veggies if you're going to snack at all.

I am just telling him a way to get his "needed" caffeine, while also saving him money and unneeded calories. yes you drink a vanilla latte occasionally but he said everyday. there's a difference between occasionally and every single day

You need to eat a lot more than you're eating now.. what is that, like 1000 cals? People in the third world have more nutritious diets than you.

Also get rid of the starbucks and spread out your meals, up your protein and lower your carbs.. geeze, I can't believe people would follow a plan like this for months, just do a little bit of research... you've lost 24 lbs, probably 60% of it muscle, and 20% water weight..

And no, popcorn is an awful source of calories.
