Has there ever been a UFC title fight between two non North Americans?
I've been trying to think of an example and I can't come up with one. Does anyone know?

Matt Hughes Vs Hayato Sakurai UFC 36
Silva vs cote
I guess there is only one N.American in those.

Silva vs Cote was S.America Vs. N.America in a way,
But I've never judged fighters based on where they are from.

I think this is the answer, that's pretty crazy... I bet 90% of this has to do with marketability and not real talent. Kinda sad, repped though.

Or it could be that MMA is a huge sport in the US and the biggest promotion is in the US, and the country has a large population with a strong culture of sports?

Many of the biggest fights in MMA were fights between non-Americans, like Fedor vs Noguera or Cro Cop vs Fedor. Wanderlei vs many of his opponents. So I don't buy your argument. It's more about who the UFC buys because one of their interests is marketability.

agreed with dixon.
If Fedor were to join the UFC then we would see Fedor vs Nog for the title
