    smelly-fart-shakes

I am told cottage cheese is a good source of protein but there is more protein in 100 grams of wheetabix than there is in the same amount of cottage cheese, am i mistaken?

I stopped drinking protein drinks coz they make me fart, so much so that Id rather be a skinny dude than a big one who stinks

I am eatin lots of tuna and salmon and cottage cheese and eggs and peanut butter, anyone got any nifty tips on how to give my protein intake a big boost without the smelly-fart-shakes?

You may also already be getting plenty of protein without the need for shakes at all. See this article and read the whole thing:

You are mistaken. Non-fat cottage cheese has 80 Calories per serving (1/2 cup) and 14 g protein. Weetabix has 4.3 g protein per serving (127 Calories) and 11.5 g protein/100 g (338 Calories). The cottage cheese has only 7 g carbs/serving while Weetabix has 25.7 g carbs.

If you want to eat nearly 3 servings of Weetabix you can get almost as much protein as cottage cheese but you are also getting 68.4g carbs. Weetabix is a cereal; you are comparing apples and oranges.

I drink tons of milk and I have never had this problem? Individual digestive tracts I guess? I'd give up alot of things, but milk is not one of them! Personally, I'd suspect the tuna more than the milk. I'm not a big fan of tuna, and when I do eat it I just eat it as fast as possible straight from the can to get it over with.

    Different digestive systems.

For me, if I have even the smallest amount of dairy I'm a total stink bomb for a week. It just tears me up.

I wish this were just a guy problem... but damn I clear the gym!! LOL I found adding danactive (it's a yougurt drink about 35 cals) to my shakes prevents gas problems.

i've always believed if you're not farting you're not squating low enough. i also agree with flyingdan, when you're HUGE your gonna need the extra room. i find the extra fiber in my diet cause gas. no problems with the shakes. i personally like ultramet by champion nutrition for some of protein shakes.

When I was in the Navy, there was a guy that was a power lifter. When he would get a good head of steam (or is that gas) going and he would rip a few off. He would either try to catch it, cup it to his nose and smell it like a boquet of roses OR he would cup it and throw it your way.

So when you think it could be bad, you could always be around that guy. Count your blessings. ;-)

Its definately the whey for me, for those of you who blame it on the tuna and the mixing the milk with the whey try cutting out the whey for a few days see if the farting stops

I took the whey for a while (in food with water with milk) and I farted, i stopped taking it and i stopped farting, i even went back to it to see if it was that that was causing it and i started farting again

I cant handle it, my day was one long fart. It was so consistent at one point that for the whole time i was awake my arse cheeks were banging together, and with rhythm

id walk into meetings at work and everyone would notice this slapping sound like the beat in a dance record and id bring a bad smell

there is protein in the weight gain im having at the minute tho and it doesnt seem to make me fart

Dude you should be a comedian lol yeah I totally agree whey it is ive never smelt worse gas in my life, ive been accused of eating rat instestines because of that smell!!

    This thread "stinks"
Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.
