Jessica's Quest for Lean Muscles!
Well... here I am again. BUT for real this time. First, a little about me...
My name is Jessica and I am 27 years old. I just accomplished one of my life list goals, running a 1/2 marathon and am thinking about doing a full. I treach a group fitness class at the gym, Body Pump. I work out a few times a week but nothing too serious.
My picture by my name (i think its referred to as an avi) is typical of me. I am non-stop on the go running all the time. I am also a disordered eater. Not bulimia or anorexia - more like binging once a week and going from super clean to super unhealthy and fixating on food all the time. I have decided after reading the journals of Rubes and Jaim that Team Scivation and the guidance of the team there is just what I want and need. When I look in the mirror I am unhappy with what I see and know I just need a little kick in the hiney to get where I want to be. So.... here I am, all the cards on the table and I am looking to you ladies for the proverbial kick in the hiney!
I have my program from Derek and just placed a supplement order from BB.com. Over the next few days I am going to take progress pictures, start a food journal and hit the gym. I will post food and workouts here as well as some other personal rants here and there.
So excited to be here with you ladies. Put on your helmets and lets get ready for the ride. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!!

Welcome to journaling.
Congrats on doing the half marathon. That's an accomplishment.
Sounds like you've got some great goals and plans lined out. I've seen some impressive progress made by people on the Scivation diet.

Forgot a few minor details...
I forgot a few minor details last night... oops.
Height 5'3
Weight 150 (will confirm today at the gym)
BF% is probably around 23-25 (I am going to see if someone will pinch me at the gym today)
Goal - 125lbs of lean muscle and to make my ex drool when he sees me (haha just a tiny added bonus)
Supplements - Scivation Choc Whey; Dialean 4x, Extend
Derek reccomended a few other but I will have to wait till next pay period to get those. I thought the above 3 were the most important. Am I on base?
I have a hard time weighing myself at home because I think my floors are a little crooked or something. I could get on the scale 10 times and have 10 different weights. Any scale reccomendations? Otherwise, I have to wait till the evening to weigh myself.
I wont even bother with the before diet because it was sooooo all over the place. I will post todays food and workouts later!! Have a good day ladies.

Yooooooooooooooooooo1!!!!
I am so in on this journal! SCIVATION BUDDIES! (P.s. i Have to warn you...I sometimes tend to get out of hand...)
Just as a starting point re: The supplements...don't use the dialene4x yet...
Take the fat burner once you've MASTERED the art of diet and training, and your results have started to plateau. Don't exhaust all the weapons in your arsenal just yet
P.S. It gives me warm fuzzies (seriously), to know that I had a small part in what will become an AMAZING journet to an unbelievable body, and healthy mindset.

Aww xoxo! I just try and help!
When your pics come up, maybe I can help with some ideas about competing (when/where/etc)
Re: Ideas...When you have the $$, and it won't be a financial burder, invest in Vasocharge. It will take your training intensity and energy to a whole new level. Is that what you meant by ideas?

Hey Jessica! Sounds like you've got things really well thought through and planned out. Definitely a great move starting up a journal for motivation and accountability, I look forward to tagging along in here.
Cool that you teach Bodypump, that was the catalyst in kicking my cardio bunny habits and switching to iron
Excellent job on the half marathon by the way!

OoooOooohhh HIYA!!!!
OMG *tear* It makes me get butterflies to know that I had a role in you deciding to get your journal on You're gonna love it, promise. Everyone here is soooo great. Honestly I wouldn't have survived the past 81 days w/o them or the Scivation team!!! It's amazing what some words on a computer screen can do to you
So you've got a great start so far.
Got the program, check.
Got the supps, check.
Gym membership, check.
Already passed up the Dunkin Donuts, check
Girl you're gonna do great. If you ever need anything, that includes advice, motivation, support, honest opinions...... just ask okay.

Food
Ok I have a few minutes at work so I am going to put what I have eaten today, plan to eat and then maybe some ideas about what I am planning on eating on a regular basis.
Today -
M1 - cottage cheese, coffee w/ splenda and sf French Vanilla Creamer 2 tbs
M2- 6oz tuna fish, 1 1/2 tbs light mayo on green salad, 3 egg whites
M3 - 1/2 c. oats w/ 2 tbs PB
M4- will probably skip? Maybe post gym protein shake? Should I have a Luna Bar? I do have 1 in the office?
M5- chicken breast w/ green beans or something like this
I am having a hard time planning this stuff out. I have the guidelines from Derek and I am going to go shopping tonight. I have no problem with the exercise but this is always my biggest challenge.
AND I officially NEED a food scale. Will look for one tonight.

What diet did Derek give you? I'm just asking because I don't recognize a lot of the foods listed (ie. Luna bar) as ones from the plan, lol...
I'm teasing...I know it's your first day
DO NOT skip the meal. If you need to, just have protein pwoder and pb

LOL the Luna Bar is not on his plan. However, I was not very well prepared for today and its a girly protien bar. Anywhoo, I didnt eat it yet. Plus, I havent gotten my shipment from BB.com. I think it will get to me tomorrow or the next day soooo the next few days will not be Derek's plan exactly.
He has me on the Lifestyle Diet to get started. Protein, carbs and good fat at every meal - 5 per day.

Do veggies count as carbs on your plan? How often does he want you using them?
I think your food choices loook good, but it doesn't look like a lot of calories...how many are you taking in?

Veggies count as carbs and its pretty flexible as long as it works with a trade-in a nut shell its Carbs, Protein and Fat at every meal. The earlier meals have about 30g of carbs the later meals have like 10g. I am at 1500 cals. I may be a little low. I'll stick it in fitday when I get to work.
This is the hardest part for me....

Looks like your getting things under control. Great job on testing the weights the yesterday. You don't want to start to heavy too and risk injury. Just keep building until you find out what level you should be at.
I find it helps to concentrate on really being able to feel the muscle working too, so you know your working it properly. Did that on one-leg squats yesterday.

Today
Hello All!
Well today was another kinda wierd day on my almost Lifestyle Cut Diet. I still dont have my protein powder so that is throwing a HUGE wrench into things. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Its funny, kinda like waiting for Santa to come!
Meals
M1 - 3 egg whites, 1 whole egg, 1 pc ww toast
M2 - oats w. 1 scoop of crappy protein powder
M3 - 2 veggie burgers; small salad (greens and cucumbers)
M4- whole grapefruit (struggled on this one) See PB story below
M5 - 1/2 c. cottage cheese; 3 oz. turkey, small sweet potato

I know the calories are a little low BUT this is a HUGGGE step for me with protein intake. I am totally pumped.
I had my HIIT workout today on the treadmill then did 30 mins arc trainer while I BS'd with my best friend.
SOOOO mini rant here. I was all excited about my PB today. It was an extra 200 cals or so I could have used. I was going to add it to my oats or something. So I open it up, peel the fresh seal off, AND hard as a freakin rock. I never stirred the oil in, since it was the natural kind, and it became a peanut butter brick. Needless to say, no PB for me today.
And then, I come home after a retarted day at work and an hour long cadio session to my roommate baking brownies!! OMG. The smell was like crack. She said she made them healthy w applesauce and egg whites but still a brownie is a brownie is a brownie! They are NOT on Derek's plan. I did not eat them! Go ME!
Tomorrow is another day - I am getting more and more pumped by the moment. I have my set up to take pics 1st thing in the am so I will have those to you. Little scared about that but.... its a necessary evil.
Hope everyone had a great day!

Lol, it's your body hun...you don't HAVE to do anything in the pics...as long as they're the same (the poses) each time you take them, then it doesn't matter what you're doing in them
