More realistic? Definitely 2k9
I've played both series and pretty much always have preferred the 2k-series. Live takes on the feel of more of an arcade game. At least to me anyway.

Live is a piece of ****, bro. 2k9 is a teir above it. Go with 2k9. It is the best basketball game out there at the moment.

NBA 2k9. Although a lot of people say 2k9 hasn't changed much since 07, it was so far ahead of Live that even though live mad huge strides, it's not even on 2k's level.
The "living rosters" come with both live and 2k9, I don't know how great it is though. I don't see what the point of daily roster updates is...Why would kobe drop a point for having a bad game...
