    slow release protein? whole food sources?

    anyone know of any slow release protein sources besides cottage cheese and milk? im running abit low on casein powder. and yes i have searched this and could'nt find anything exactly like my Q

    +1. Really, almost any real food source of protein is going to take a while to digest. The whole "whey for fast release/casein for slow release" thing, while basically true, is more useful to supplement companies than it is to bodybuilders.

    I read somewhere a list of how long certain foods take to digest. yeah, cottage cheese was up to 7 hours, but i think chicken and steak was still about 4 hours. maybe someone can locate that list and post it.

    any kind of fish and meat.

    I'm not sure whether you can buy low fat curd cheese in the usual supermarket, but in germany, it is an excellent, cheap source of casein.
