Well the title pretty much says it all. I just recently bought Creatine Monohydrate from my GNC. I took the regular 5 grams and ended up having explosive diarrhea roughly two hours later. Then I went with 2.5 grams the next time and had a little bit of diarrhea, but still stomach pain. Anyone else have this problem? and a solution? I thought about maybe trying a different creatine, but the only one that looked good was Cell-mass and it's way expensive.

You're putting into your body a gritty, powdery substance. It's abnormal from your normal diet, of course there is the possibility of gastrointestinal comfort. It just differs from person to person how severely.

The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

When first created, creatine monohydrate was origonally meant to be absorbed anally - so it could be soaked in through the rectal cavity and disperse throughout the blood stream quickly. However, this form of intake made the prospect of marketing the product virtually impossible.
Scientists began testing the supplement and its absorbtion into the blood stream from oral intake. While much slower and lacking some benefits, the oral intake method was found to be 'more pleasant' for users of the supplement.
However, one major complication came along with the digestion process. It was found that 8 out of 10 test subjects reported bowel issues when taken orally. In contrast only 1 in 10 of the anal test subjects reported any problems.
It is still recommended by scientists that creatine be absorbed through the rectal wall.
Hope this helps you out! GOOD LUCK!
