Sponsorship for figure competitions?!

I would like to a figure comp in about 6 months! It is something I really need to do. But i know costs are out the roof. Its just alocal show, so i wasnt sure if i could get sponsers to help take care of some costs? Does anyone know how this works, how to go about this and what to say without looking like i am begging for money? PLEASE help. I need to get this going ASAP!!!

In order to get sponsorship you need to have something to offer them. Unless you know the owner of the company, typically you won't get handouts. They need some benefit like exposure, labor, modeling products, whatever. Most competators will wait until they have some success in competing in order to show their goods. But there's no rules saying you can't go for it right away.
