Sponsors for figure competitions??

I would like to a figure comp in about 6 months! It is something I really need to do. But i know costs are out the roof. Its just alocal show, so i wasnt sure if i could get sponsers to help take care of some costs? Does anyone know how this works, how to go about this and what to say without looking like i am begging for money? PLEASE help. I need to get this going ASAP!!!

Tough to get sponsors when you're new to the sport. The only thing I can think of is maybe a local gym would sponsor you...if you represent their gym.
