    Deadlift Suit

I have a DL competition coming up in January and I think it's finally time to get some gear on me.

    Maxes:
Squat - 365 (probably close to 400 now)
Bench - 225 *Not getting a bench shirt, I'm way too weak raw
    Deadlift - around 500

Right now I'm focused on my deadlift suit. I lift conventional. I was thinking about going with the Metal King Pro Deadlifter, but I've seen some people in meets lift with them and I haven't been impressed with their lifts. What does the average carryover look like? I'm looking for a suit that will have a 50+ lbs. carryover. I have pretty good leverages so I think I will get alot of a suit. If anyone has any other opinions of different suits please comment.

with a 500lb deadlift, i don't see you getting 50+ pounds out of a suit pulling conventional. then again, i don't know your body as well as you, and it is possible. that said, i've heard most people pulling in squat suits. trx has been a favorite for a few of my training partners lately. im sure a few others on here do that very thing.

unless you start with your hips low in conv deadlift (which going by the fact that your deadlift is 140 lbs stronger then your squat I don't think thats the case) you won't get a whole lot out of a suit in conv, unless you are horribly weak off the floor.

Yeah I've really had no experience with gear and I'm not really sure where to start, any other suggestions?

Do you know what the carryover looks like, and if I do go down the route of getting a single squat/dl suit should I do my measurements based off of a squat suit or a dl suit?

Metal King Pro is a lot of suit.

I have a metal king and I struggle. It throws my form off so bad (struggle to get to the bar), A looser version is better for me...but I lose the carry over.

The pro version with velcro would be good. Start loose and so tighter and tighter as the weeks go on.

I like the new titan deadlift suits, they are soft and just add a bit of support.
Not so much carry over, but keep my body tight. I dont feel as tired after a session.

For sizing, contact Elitefts and they will help you for metal.
    Ken anderson for Titan.
and for inzer contact brent at iron gladiators

When I tried a deadlift suit it did nothing for me (I pull with hips strating high and very stiff legged).

I wear a Metal King Pro. I think it's a good suit, can give you some decent pop off the floor. The velcro straps are nice b/c you can start them loose and once you get used to getting in position with the suit you can really crank them down.

I squat in an Ace. I like it. I feel like the legs can run pretty snug though.

We have several sumo pullers that pull in the Ace.

I don't know about nicer suits but I got absolutely nothing out of a champion suit when I used it. I pull conventional mostly back which is why, im assuming.

you have a pretty high deadlift compared to your other lifts.

gear in general is going to help everyone out differently, so it's kind of a luck thing. but everyone i know uses a titan or inzer, so that's probably what i'm gonna end up getting.
