In my opinion fish oils are excellent for cutting and bulking. I find that the use of them aids in fat loss for me. But it also replenishes my body with the omega threes that I cannot make. Omega 3 are essentila for a variety of things in the body. I use ( varies) normally each meal about 4 capsules. I know this is not really technical , if you require the technical advice then maybe someone else can answe this post.

Sorry for the bump but didn't want to waste a new thread on a small question. Do people take fish oil daily -- more specifically, even on days when you eat fish? Or is it only a supplement to use on days when you don't eat fish, to fill that dietary gap?
Thanks in advance.

Fish Oil & Nose Bleeds
Ok so iv tried taking fish oil in the liquid pill form but every time I start taking these things I start to get nose bleeds on a regular basis (like usually twice a day). I did a little research and I know that fish oil tends to thin the blood so how is the best way to go about getting the benefits of fish oil but without the nose bleeding?

From my research, there are only 3 supplements that work (as in very little negative studies to say it's bad or doesn't work), they are: whey, creatine and fish oil.
If I had only one supplement to take, fish oil would it. I take two with every meal. However, if I'm eatting fish for that meal, I skip. But that's just a personal preference.
I sometime mix it up with flaxseed oil and krill as well.
Oh, and I take it whether I'm bulking or cutting. Suppose to help with joints, so that's important when you are going heavy in bulk, and then when you don't have as much fat/water around your joints during cutting. And when Caesar reached the Oceanside, he wept. As there were no more worlds to conquer.
I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

I mean wow, but I've been there mate. Besides my most obvious triggers are my hyperphotophobia and my sleep (I can't sleep any more than 6 hours without being woken in crippling pain). At my lowest point I barely ate anything, my family tried forcing me to drink weight gain. Everyone thought I was a drug addict when I obviously wasn't. I can't even drink never mind take **** like that.

First post here. Just started working out again after a 5 year layoff....I'll tell that part later on...but anyway, looking to buy fish oil and my wife sells all natural products for a company ( not gonna say who cause I'm def not trying to solicit here). They sell Omega-3 fish oil and here's the stats:
calories 10
Total Fat 1g
Vitamin E 3%
Fish Oil 1030 mg
EPA. 180 mg
DHA. 120 mg
Total omega-3 fatty acids 300 mg
Now I have no idea if this is worth it at $21 a bottle or I should just run to Rite Aid?

Some epic bumps throughout this thread, but I agree in Fish Oil being one of the few things truly worth supplementing.

Couple of compounding factors
1. Cutting
2. Got sick while cutting
3. New gym (new environment you aren't used to, weights, benches, barbells, etc.)
4. New schedule (had to start working out in the mornings, used to later in the evening workouts)
5. Only a few hundred cals before training since i wake up and head to the gym right away in the morning
6. started working in a factory for the summer, factory work def kills energy/motivation
[b]7. Most importantly tho, with everything, having to wake up early and not getting home til midnight, i never got enough sleep (for me atleast, used to 10-12 hours every night) and this is what really wrecked my strength lol.
The sleep and having to workout right when i wake up earlier in the morning are the biggest reasons
But anyways i just gotta find my sack and also try and get to sleep earlier right when i get home from workLog

Well, It is said that lot of the benefit of fish oil seems to come from the omega-3 fatty acids that it contains.Basically, the body does not produce its own omega-3 fatty acids. Nor can the body make omega-3 fatty acids from omega-6 fatty acids, which are common in the Western diet. A lot of research has been done on EPA and DHA, two types of omega-3 acids that are often included in fish oil supplements.
Also Omega-3 fatty acids reduce pain and swelling. This may explain why fish oil is likely effective for psoriasis and dry eyes. These fatty acids also prevent the blood from clotting easily. This might explain why fish oil is helpful for some heart conditions.
