"it is a non-fat, high protein, high calcium cultured dairy product.
It is more textured than yoghurt or cottage cheese, it is less firm than any reasonable cheese."
So I have 3oz of this when i first wake up here is the nutrional value:
For a 6oz portion plain skyr (170g):
Calories 100
Total Fat 0g
Sat Fat 0g
Trans Fat 0g
Choles. 5mg
Sodium 70mg
Total Carb 6g
Sugars 4g (These are natural from the dairy fyi)
Protein 17g (Extremely high quality too)
Calcium 20% of DV (based on 2000calorie diet obv)
Not to mention it has all the same active cultures that yogurt does! If you buy a flavored brand it is only about 20 more calories and 6g more of sugars.
http://catdynamics.blogspot.com/2005...e-of-skyr.html
www.skyr.is/ (this is the only brand in the states atm, and is only carried by whole foods)
This also makes an amazing dip with spices, herbs mixed in for a "snack."
This is a cancer fighting power wake up meal that I have made with it (but don't use the honey myself cause i'm on a major cut):
Skyr
Blueberries
Brazil Nut
Almonds
Natural unprocessed honey
Flax Seeds
With Green/Black tea... this has so many nutrional benifits that you will be getting compliments within two weeks about how you looked refreshed.
Anyways I discovered this and thought I would share... thoughts/questions/other?

PSA to anyone who might not be aware:
Grapes (and thus raisins as well) are, like chocolate, verboten foods for dogs.No brain, no gain.
