Who has taken the GRE? GTFIH
Anybody study for this ****. I looked through a book and the verbal section is ridiculous. Could you imagine talking like that every day. It makes me bellicose. And furthermore im already feeling chagrined by the time limits.
Was the test really that bad for those who took it?
After I cleaned up I was sordid.

Nice. Just give me three tips to go into the test. Im sure there are a couple of things you wish you had brushed up on. I usually smoke the quantitative sections but absolutely bomb the verbal stuff. Any surprises on either? Thanks and greens in advance.

Practice tests... Practice tests and more practice tests... Thats the key bro.. the more u do them the better u would get. Search online ull find ****loads of computer based tests from all different companies. Download them, install them and keep taking different kinds.
Now if u can get 800 on quants(which i believe u should) then all u gotta focus is to somehow manage 500 points in verbal, coz i believe 1300 is a decent score.
If ur fuked up in verbal then i believe u should not focus on comprehensions coz thats gonna killa ya. Focus on antonyms and synonyms, that will get u lot of points. I know it requires to memorize **** load of words but its easier to score there than scoring in comprehension ****. Fill the blanks also can be mastered with more practise and techniques on how to practice them r available on a lot of kaplan cd's and stuff.
But the more command u have on vocabulary the better ur chances are.

Thanks for the tips. Ill hit the practice exams for a couple of days and then hit the test on Wed morning. I really need over 1000 total with a quantitative emphasis but anything over 1200 would be nice. My GPA hopefully speaks higher (much more specialized in science).

ull get 1000 bro... no big deal.. trust me. If ur taking test on wed. then i dont think u have a lot of time to memorise wordlist. Do one thing... Barrons has a sorted list of words which has the most hits on tests. The list of most popular words in tests. Memorise that... i bet ull get a few points out of that for sure..

I'm in a similar boat. I'm having a hard time staying focused and studying for the GRE. I need to get a great score, as close to perfect as possible (esp for the quant side)
What do you want to study in grad school? MS or PhD?
