I lift weights in a fasted state. I know that some people don't think this is the best choice, but this thread is not about that.
Assuming that someone is going to perform weight training shortly after they wake up, is it fine for them to take in some BCAAs pre workout, or should they be having whey?
I know that protein is necessary to build/maintain muscle. I get plenty durting the day. My concern is since I sleep and exercise after I wake up, what does my body need upon waking? Is it actually protein, or is it just BCAAs?
I have been taking BCAAs, WMS, creatine pre-workout. Then the same post workout, and 45 minutes later a whole foods meal with oats and whey. So, I get my protein within 45 minutes of completing my weight training.
Thanks in advance

Neither way is magic or anything... but if the amino acid formula has other goodies (WRAATH comes to mind ), it could make a pretty noticeable difference.Free agent
