Quick night, felt great though, hit a little beasty mode on the one arm DB's, made 10 strict reps on my strong arm. All strict on the strong arm, some leg drive on the weak shoulder, left side. Feeling really good this week so far, still losing some weight too.

Also on sunday I broke into the 200's for the first time in probably 10yrs......I am near 100lbs lost. I know I actually probably weighed 400 at one time just didn't have a scale that measured that. I weighed officially 391 back in Nov 08 which was a few months after I started trying to work on losing so I am certain I had already lost some by the time I joined the gym and weighed that.
Its been a long journey but I love it. Feels really good to start losing again, I had gone up a little in the last 9 months while working on getting stronger but I know I never really gained fat again cause all my measurements stayed the same or went lower. I am now near a size 38 pants which is really cool.
Today I weighed in at 302 fully clothed leaving the gym and I have weighed my workout stuff and shoes before and they usually are about 4-5lbs not to mention this is at the end of the day after eating and drinking so I am possibly near 295. I will for now use 298 though since I know my clothes etc weigh at least 4lbs
Feeling so energized this week......

You have come a long way. I know what ya mean about the scales, lol, the ones made to weigh heiffers are too expensive! LOL, did I just call us heiffers? lmbo. Im so crackin myself up over here, someone please pick me up off the floor!

I still feel bad since I am weak but I know its from losing weight not eating much.

Did some event type stuff, finally used my stone trainer loading pin from elitefts, was not as bad as I was expecting, I managed a 232lbs load the first time I ever tried it. It was brutal on the forearms though squeezing the plates, lots of battles scar bruises. After loading the 232 I worked back down and did some loads in between each farmers run. Needless to say I am worn the fook out tonight, really sore. Did all that after working up to 5 plates on deads.

WOW I am feeling awesome!
a few thoughts, getting into the 200's last week by hitting 299 was awesome but now this is just even better, I am solidly in and moving down still. I am not counting calories right now or eating 100% clean foods, just not eating alot, not that hungry. I have had random munchie feelings and downed a bunch of food like several nights ago but its not hurting me. I am busting my tail in the gym and its paying off. Its almost surreal to think about low 290's when I was once about 400. My new goal will be 275 by this november as it will be the 2yr anniversary of me joining the gym.
Once I get to 275 I will probably work on getting stronger again for a few months and eat a little more. I am trying my best to preserve and gain strength while losing fat and also give my skin time to adapt. I sure don't want a bunch of loose skin and I can already tell it might happen.Last edited by dbluegoat; 08-11-2010 at 12:03 PM.

hell no man I am around a little, I have been holding the same bodyweight for a good year now but working on my strength. Things are coming along nice, recomping a bit, wearing size 38 pants vs 48 when I started.
started the new year off with a bunch of PR's
hit a 300lb Push press monday, tuesday pulled 565 from 2inches (been a long time since I pulled that weight)
Incline hit a 315x1 no spot, no liftoff (first time ever unassisted at all)
got a competition coming up 2/11
I am a complete gym junkie and will never go back to sitting on my ass

Time for a new year update.....Been hovering between 290 and as high as 318 the last couple years. I have not really been doing much if any cardio and not really trying to diet. I eat clean most of the time but I have found I can pretty much eat whatever I want and not gain weight especially when training really hard for a contest. I have done 6 or 7 strongman contests and because of that I just pretty much eat whatever. I am ready however to get back to trimming down. Currently down to 309 from about 315 a month or so ago. Hitting up the cardio daily again.....My first goal is 275, I do have a contest coming up feb or march and I will raise calories again a few weeks before that just to make sure I am ok with my strength.

Goodluck man, I started off in about the worst shape possible and never had lifted weights before. I don't really consider myself strong at least not with regards to the strongman/pl levels either but I think I have done pretty good. I apologize to many who may have followed, I stopped updating this but that does not mean I ever stopped working out and eating better. 4+yrs now, in retrospect I should probably be about 220 and ripped by now but I have changed my composition, people in the gym never think I look 300, they always guess around 275. Calorie restriction/dieting and preparing for a strongman contest don't really work together, lol
The log is a good thing the first year or two just to keep you accountable, using fitday helped me also learn about calories and counting and knowing what I eat.
I will be around more.....If I can do this ANYONE can

Starting to get back heavy into the gym I took 2-3 weeks where I just went 1-2 times a week, kind of break of sorts.
Last night I deadlifted for the first time in maybe a month, kept it light-ish
