    Ridiculous heart rate!

Injured my knee about twp months ago, and I only started doing any kind of cardio again about a month ago, on bike and elliptical. Since I was using the machines (I usually run outdoors) I figured I would utilize the pulse sensors. I kept my heart rate in the high 160s (sometimes pushed myself hard and got as high as 175) and would do short sessions (10-20 minutes). Anyway, today my knee felt better and I got a patella brace. I decided to try the treadmill out. The knee pain was practically nonexistent, which was amazing to me. Anyhow, I only was going about 6.5 mph for about 10 minutes (generally only do 10 mins after lifting), and I felt a pretty bad tightness in my chest. As soon as cooldown started, I grabbed the pulse sensors and it said my HR was 195! Could that be accurate? What could be the cause? Paradoxically enough, this was one of the few days I didn't take any stims pre-workout!

it could have been the resistance setting on the bike. or the sensors (im sure) are not the most accurate instruments in the world. then again maybe your heart rate was that high. i have a resting heart rate around 65, but i swam for 20 min, and finished w/ a 100 m sprint breaststroke and had a heart rate of 205 (17 beats in 5 seconds).
