Part of 'genetics' is how well you respond to steroids. Some people will blow the hell up on them whereas other might make fairly average gains. Whether or not you believe them, a lot of people say that the top pros respond so well to gear that they take less than a lot of amateurs (see the thread where Tom Prince posted his pre-contest cycle as an example).
