Things to do for bulking + question on DOMS

I would love to understand bulking better, especially what makes a muscle grow in size. I assume heavy weights, which allow for fewer reps, but what about rest periods in between sets? Number of sets? Is DOMS an indicator of a successful workout for adding muscle size? Will endurance activities negate bulking activities?

Can DOMS be treated so it will not affect workouts later in the week? (For instance, heavy deadlifts on back day affected my ability to do some exercises during leg day several days later.)

Any tips or advice you have appreciated!

this is a really good read for understanding bulking.

No DOMS are not an indicator of growth sorry but it does mean you probably had a great workout.

Yes endurance activites will negate bulking activities especially if done on a regular basis.

The only way DOMS can be treated is with anti-inflammatories however I've heard this also doesn't help with growth. I could be wrong though. You can also try warm baths and stretching frequently to help.

I do deads on legs days so they never affect my leg workout - only the way I want them to.
