weight belts
hi guys,
been reading a fair bit about belts, but it's all a little confusing. i have knee/elbow sleeves from atp, and have been looking at their range of belts.
haven't used a belt before for support, only for pullups/dips. it's a ****ty second hand gold's gym belt (is this sufficient for support?).
do you guys have any recommendations?

i've been looking at:
http://www.prowriststraps.com/inc/sdetail/153108
or
http://www.prowriststraps.com/inc/sdetail/131190
thread's i searched recommended inzer aswell? are they available to be shipped to australia?
and how would you measure for one?
thanks

Have no idea who can ship to Austrailia but I'm sure if you called they would tell you or even tried to order you'd find out right away.
I personally love the 13mm single prong belt. APT has one now and works great. The leather isn't as smooth as the Inzer I had but who cares,it's a power belt and it's cheaper.
13mm is a lot stiffer but will form to your body over time which I really like. Single prong because that's all you really need and just getting that undone and put in is tough enough after a long training session. Some like the lever belt which Titan also carries but I adjust the holes I use way to much from one attempt to the next.
I'm actually looking at a lever though for a bench belt.

To get a measurement measure where you'll wear the belt. If in doubt just measure around where your belly button is. Measure WITH clothes/equipment on.

If you use the same notch for everything get a lever belt.
I love my 13 mm inzer lever. Had it for 4 years and its still amazing.

I'd go with a 10mm prong belt, for a first belt.

thanks for the input guys. i wouldn't get a lever belt, my weight/waist size won't stay the same so that would be a problem i assume?
so i guess, 13mm would take a while to break in and get used to and 10mm is softer/thinner?
what are the differences between single and double prongs, is it just ease of putting it on? or is there more support benefits?
from the advice i am thinking this belt?

Weight change over time wouldn't be a problem with a lever. I change which hole I use from when I first put it on to the last set I do in the same session. As well I use a different hole between squat and deadlift. I believe I might get frustrated with a lever belt but I shouldn't knock it as I've never tried it.
As for the prongs I found no benefit other then frustration having two of them. Single is the way to go for me.
That belt in the pic looks pretty sweet. I have the other one you were looking at, the black and white one which is 13mm.

I have used an Inzer 13mm lever for more than 10 years.

The belt just arrived, looks good, can't believe how stiff/sturdy they actually are heh. Any tips on how to wear one in, beside continual use?
Got some wrist wraps and straps.

wearing the belt is the only way to break it in.
you don't want it broken in too much as it'll lose a lot of its support so just wear it, eventually it will get more comfy to wear, and that's when its broken in.

Just like a pair of shoes or a woman, you just have to physically try them on and see which works best for you.
(yes, squatting in aisle 7.)
