The strange thing is, if you go to the states you'll swear the people are fatter over there, because you see people who are absolutely huge. I think if you looked at the figures closely you'd probably see that while Australia has a slightly higher overall proportion of people who are "overweight" (the difference is less than 1% I believe) America has a much higher percentage of people who are "obese".

So the I don't think the headline tells the whole story. That said - shame on us for getting so damn complacent with diet and exercise (what happened to us loving our sport so damn much?).

It's based on BMI so I'm gonna say most aussies are jacked to the shizenhousen and therefore the BMI does not properly measure our fatness

I dunno that 50% thing is kinda skewed, we got a lot of islanders (which are like 90% obese), lazy ****s and also if they went by BMI then even our athletes are considered "overweight".

The percentage is deceiving as well-America would have far more 'fat' people because of the population, but the difference of the population size makes a skewed comparison.

Their portion sizes are absolutely massive too I believe-Isn't it possible to get a thickshake that is nearly half a litre in size?
