    Carb ups and glycogen??

    Hey guys,

Just curious...most people doing a CKD that have high body fat levels, don't actually need to carb up. But once these high body fat level people get into ketosis and lift heavy...where does the energy come from? Because I read that anaerobic exercise can only use glycogen as energy. Or does your body start to use your fat as fuel for your lifting?

    Thanks!

    Chris

when your glycogen is empty, i think the fat is used for energy(weight-lifting,cardio etc) but that seem to be the perfect explanation or maybe it use muscle, i don't really know but it will be good to have a answer about that

Your body uses three different forms for energy, Creatine Phosphate, Glucose and then Fat and it uses it in that order. Well your creatine levels deplete rapidly and then your body goes to glucose, well when that is gone, it only has fat left.

Once you are in a state of ketosis you will start burning fat for energy. If you are in a calorie deficit you tap into your stored reserves (fat on your body). This type of diet is muscle sparring but you will lose some like with any type of calorie deficient diet.

Anaerobic exercise uses creatine stores and atp. ATP can be made from fat. A longer anaerobic session turns to glyc stores. At least that's how I was schooled. ??????

Eat a lot of steak, it is loaded with creatine.
