    Squat pain help!!

    My knee has started to hurt me but only when I go down stairs. I have been squating 2 to 3 times per week for many years and I have never experienced this symptom. I did tear my anterior and medial collateral ligaments playing football about 20yrs ago and had an operation but this has not hindered me in the past.

    The pain is around my kneecap and is not excrusiating by any means but I don't want it to ger worse. Do you believe this is the inevitable onset of arthritis or just overuse? I assume not doing squats for awhile would be a good idea although the knee does not bother me when squating. Any experience with this or advice will be appreciated.

    Do you foam roll? It helps alot.
