Fitness Modeling
Anyone a fitness model out there? I am wondering how you got started and how you networked to pursue modeling. I am curious and interested. It is such a motivator in my workout routines that in my head I WILL look like fitness models in Oxygen mag etc. I am almost there.
Just wondering if/how you have made a career out of fitness and your figure. Thanks everyone who shares. I APPRECIATE IT SOO MUCH!

I wouldn't say that you were almost there from looking at your pics. I also read the captions you posted under the photos and in the profile. I get the feeling from all of it, (and your "almost there" comment) that you are probably just joking, or maybe you don't realize how serious and involved the weight training for a successful fitness model actually is. (or how much mass those women actually have) ...maybe a reality check is in order?

Wow I think this post is a little rude and offensive. I don't think the OP was asking for your opinion on if she is 'almost there' or not. She was simply asking how people got started. To put her down on her accomplishments thus far is counterproductive to anyone!

Hey Megan!
I personally think you look terrific! Keep up the great work!
Unfortunately, I don't have any first-hand info on the mainland fitness industry. Things are a bit different here in Hawaii, much smaller, so less competition.
Hey, have you checked out some of the articles here at bb.com? Some great info if you haven't seen it already!
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbin...?page=Modeling
Take care and best of luck in reaching your goals!

Hey Megan! Where are you in Michigan (you can PM me - or you don't have to, if you don't want to)? I'm about 30 miles outside of Detroit.
I think you are very attractive and have a VERY marketable look (you remind me of Pink! - who I think is HAWT). I love your various poses and your are obviously very talented! You ARE making great progress!
Sorry, I can't help you out with resources for modeling, but if we live close, I would do what I could to see what I could find out by asking various trainers at my gym, etc.!

I don't think tawney's post was rude at all. She was not insulting, and yes the OP looks very good, but there's more to being a fitness model than looking attractive. That's the point I took from her post.
I mean, come on, do you women come here for HONEST opinions, or do you just come here to have your egos massaged?

Because I tell it like it is with no bull****.
ah...your negative rep just answered my question. Honest responses not welcome here, as I thought.

No honest responses are most welcome and always will be however when they are done with a BITCHY ATTITUDE like Tawney does in every single post of hers that's when there is a problem.
Yes the OP does have some work ahead of her and I'm sure she knows this however to be rude about it is not why we are here.
We are here to give encouragement to everyone not to knock them down and step on them!

OMG I saw your pics you are very athletic!
"Acting as if" is a great motto to get you to your goals. Nothing wrong with that.
I don't have any real information but I found this site for you which has a bunch of fitness models on it. If you click on the interview link, it asks the models questions about how they got their start.

Like I said, tawney's post wasn't rude at all and anyone who thinks so needs a lesson in reading comprehension, or has deep seated esteem issues themselves.

No just you, and you can go ahead and get your teenie bopper clique together and pull your neg train on me on every post I've made, I really don't care about reps. Yes, I've been warned about you before I even came to this thread.

I don't know any teeny boppers.
has anyone else negged you?

No, but I'm just saying, like I said before, I've heard about you. Just wanted to let you know pulling a train on me would be a wasted of effort, because I honestly don't care is all.

javyn honestly I don't what you've heard and who you it from but you are wrong dude.
I don't pull neg trains together and that's the reason why you haven't been negged by anyone else and if you are being negged it's not because of me..
and lol that you think i have enough sway to do such a thing.
I don't hold myself in such regard believe me.

Are we talking strongman competitions? I've heard of pulling cars, but never trains - now that would be something.

Come on guys, the OP came in here looking for advice, not for two people to have an e-arguement. Last thing you want is the thread locked because two people can get along.
Hugs all round.

To the OP - the majority of fitness models used by Oxygen and similar mags are actually fitness or figure competitors so maybe put your mind (and training/diet!) towads competing and getting your name/body out there.

OP, no...I'm only a fitness model in my mind at the current time, so can't help you there. You've got some really nice flex poses up. Stick with it and you'll be on your way and the "inner fitness model" will shine through to your exterior. BTW, the training section here is excellent for getting specific training advice on workouts, diet, etc. It also helps to contact folk through pm who've done fitness modelling and still do professionally. There are quite a few of them on here. Any hoot...good luck.

I'm sorry...and if I get banned...so be it. But I cannot keep shut on this one. Please notice the bolded comments from the OP. Your post was ridiculously insulting, demeaning, not encouraging in any way and well...I'm actually concerned that you would be so negative and hurtful. Trust me (I'm a NewYorker..ergo thick-skinned) I know about being "straight up"....but the OP did not ask for your opinion for how she looks or how close she is to becoming fitness model material....did she? If I were to go around stating my "personal" opinions on how I feel certain people around here actually look, it would make for "prime time television"...as I'd put Chris Rock out of business...just by stating "my opinion" Generally, I try to answer the question that is asked...and if asked "how do you rate me"...then yes, I'll give my honest opinion (pos/neg). Perhaps you should try this. I feel you have so much to offer to these threads as you've been through alot and learned quite a bit through the support of many. Have a heart and realize that everyone must start from some place and find their "motivation" wherever they can.
I feel...therefore I am

Do you hon!
Write down your goals and go for it. Don't pay attention to insecure chicks telling you what you can and cannot do. They personally don't believe they are good enough and will try to convince you the same.
You got some good advice given to you in this thread. Follow that and start working on your goals. Once you make it then you can give insecure little girls MORE stuff to hate you for.
Remember, we all had to start from the beginning. But think about the thousands of women who have goals like yours and don't start at all.

Javn, no--I can't agree with this. I'm certainly no 'ego' massager, but that post in question is one of the rudest I've ever encountered. Criticism (constructive or otherwise is one thing), but this is beyond my comprehension, even when I'm in raging PMS bitch mode.
We all have to start somewhere, and I've seen so many women here talk of competing/fitness modeling one day, and then you look at their progress pics to discover they're quite overweight or a long way off from their goals. But then you come back a few month later and it's like dayum girl, what happened to you?!! The body is smokin' (no homo of course).
So what, should we all just start getting really brutal and honest here whenever we encounter someone who's potential hasn't been fully met? If that's the case we can all start slashing and burning a large majority of folks on this site, because hey, we're all just a bunch of silly dreamers!
And I don't care whether the OP thinks she is close to her ideal or not, as she never expressed what she meant by 'almost there,' then again, why should she have to? For some folks this could mean tomorrow, while for others it might mean sometime in the near future, or even a year or two for now. However, this is not the point. The point is that none of us should go out of our way to undermine, or to brazenly state that a 'wake up call' is in order. How embarrassing and uncouth!
If these types of comments become the norm here, then I dare to say that this site will go downhill fast. Word of mouth is critical in today's market, and I have referred a large number of my female friends here, and they all agree that this site gives them HOPE!
And it takes a lot of courage for a female to post pictures of herself here, especially when her body may not be fully up to par. But the last thing any of us needs is to have our goals shot down, or to be ridiculed for whatever fitness related thoughts are spinning in our heads. And don't think for a moment that many other women (lurkers included), or those who thought of posting or asking a similar question, will now think twice, or might even abandon the site altogether as a result of this, or similar cruel behavior.
We don't come here to get out egos massaged (nor do we come here to have them brutally chopped down to size), but there's no denying how important it is to have support. Just look at some of the comments on my page, do you think these words don't actually motivate me, or to help when I feel there's no way in hell I can achieve my goals? They do! It's the people here, we all aid one another. Of course we have to make it happen for ourselves and that most of it is on our own shoulders, but I'm not going to lie when I say how important the people here are to me. Everyone, even the guys that answer all my dumb/redundant/silly questions whenever I call in for supplement advice.
The team here is strong, and we're all a part of it, except for some folks who believe this is a harsh reality site, a wake-up call site, a put someone down site. If anyone needs to work out their hostilities, I'd say it's best to go apply for some reality television show where bitchiness is not only appreciated, but helps to boost ratings.
To the OP, I'm so sorry. Most of us here are not this way, you look lovely and if you keep working hard you will most certainly achieve your fitness goals.
Rant over. Hugs.
