Today i was at the food store and i had a hard time finding a decent loaf of whole wheat bread. They ALL had either sugar or HFCS... ALL of them.... i just want whole wheat bread where the ingredient is whole wheat flour/whole grain wheat... I dont want sugar or any other crap added and i only once saw such a product but i dont remember the brand... any suggestions?

I didnt realize that, most breads that i saw had 4g sugar per serving of 2 slices. thats not a killer but if its not necessary, i prefer to have no sugar. But sugar for the yeast is something to take in account i guess. How then, do they make bread without sugar, if you say its necessary for yeast? Unless they add just enough sugar for the yeast and no sugar is left over...

I love pita wraps, personally. If you can find a good Idian bakery in your area, I suggest taking a look. The ones I buy have only 120 calories, absolutley no fat and low sugar levels. I dont have the name of the brand off hand but later this week I'll be taking a trip to pick up some more. I'll come back and post the nutrition values and brand name for ya!

Ezekiel is great stuff, but pretty pricey. If you're looking for budget healthy, I feel like Orowheat Country wheat is pretty good. No HFCS, still some sugar, but it's not much, and like they said it may be needed for the yeast. Any double fiber bread is going to be pretty healthy as well, they will ordinarily still have HFCS but the additional fiber can help offset that.
