Man, Virgin Mobile sucks.

Wanted to get a cheap phone so I would have something to make calls while I was at work and while I'm driving to and from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays...

Went with Virgin Mobile because they seemed to be cheap (5 cents a minute for the 500 minute card) and they touted the "Number 1 customer service in pay as you go plans."

Go online to activate my account, follow the steps it gives me, it doesn't work. Email them, they tell me to follow the steps then call them. Follow the steps again, it doesn't work. I call, it some automated "activate your phone" BS that doesn't help at all.

I ask if I can send my phone in for an exchange (something that Trac Phone did for my dad like 4 times when he had problems once) and they are like, "Oh sir we're sorry you're having problems, if you purchased the phone from us you can get a refund within 30 days."

At this point even if I get the phone activated (doubtful) my minute pack will be halfway expired without even getting to use it.

Most likely I am just out 50 bucks and I will end up getting a regular plan from somewhere else or something.

Dude I'm just so pissed! How hard is it to understand I've followed the same steps they've told me to like 8 times and nothing's worked? Then when I call the number they keep telling me to call to fix things it's some stupid automated piece of **** trying to get me to do something I've already done.

when i had it I had no problems luckily. However, if you read around there are horror stories a plenty. Lots of double billing credit cards, bad customer service, and vanishing minutes on cards and plans. You may have gotten off easy.

verizon sucks. they have their phones altered to prevent you from using other features and downloading. they want you to get everything from verizon.

Verizon (2006-2008)
T-Mobile (2008-present)

Nextel back in the day was the best phone company, but they went downhill and sprint bought them. i left ot verizon. i was unhappy with verizon. verizons cust care sucks.

for example
they share towers with other companies. verizon does NOT get your tower usage until a month after your bill. They then adjust your previous bill based on those minutes. When you check your minutes used, your minutes will say that you aren't near going over the minutes bc verizon fails to obtain tower use information during that bill cycle. then WHAM next month you are like what the **** just happened. verizon nailed you for overages and charges from the previous month.

bad experience with verizon. their plans were expensive and phones were all flash with no substance.

i left them to tmobile. best decision i made. you get to use GSM phones which all you to take phones between carriers. you can also use european phones and others not available in the usa. tmobile cust care has been amazing. go all out to solve an issue and if there is a logical reason for a credit they dont hold back.

very pleased with service, cost, phones, and customer service.

also, tmobile has the least expensive blackberry service of all cell phone companies.
