Challenge: Unwrap your abs for Christmas
Thanks for all of the suggestions guys and you especially Mr.Kleen73 for the wonderful challenge name
Christmas is in about 62 days slightly less than 9 weeks away!!
So let's think of way to challenge our bodies and minds!
Eat Clean Eat Clean everyday!! In this challenge you can have 2 cheat meals/maybe days and that is all? so basically one cheat day every 30 days.. remember thanksgiving is during this time
Now to the working out part....
We need to exercise 6 times a week and if you double up one day then that can count too
Weight training is a must... minimum 3 times a wk and cardio minimum 3 times a week for at least 30 min
1st picture should be taken this weekend
The plan should start either Sunday Oct 26 or Monday Oct 27?. how does this sound???
The prize is an awesome christmas present to yourself!!!!!!!!!
Rules:
1. Everyone has to commit to post at least twice a week with some type of update to hold each other accountable i.e when we eat bad outside of the 2cheat meals/days or miss the 6 wkouts for the week. We have to document it in the blog for everyone to see and put us back in check and offer support or alternative ideas.
2. Post 4 full body shots every 3 weeks(this will total 3 pics for the 9 wks) in our progress areas and notify via the blog that it is out there for others to see.

Oh yeah, I am soooooo in! Was going to look for one, what if we did 4 pics evrey 2 weeks all full body like Relaxed front, relaxed rear, front dbl bicep, and rear double bicep. It will give us a total picture of all areas of the body and development. We all lose fat in different areas and some may see more improvement from one shot to another.

Yeah, I was more refering to having multiple poses at each picture session to show the progress more. YOu know sometimes one picture wont show something but the next shot you see a world of difference. I guess really though as long as you post something up you are doing great. 2-3 weeks in between is great. Oh yeah, THANKS!!!!!!! Needed someone to step up and get something going.

Ah yeah!
This is great, I'm so looking forward to it. Tomorrow I'll be ironing out my master plan (mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaaa!) and getting my food list together.
My two cents:
1) I think taking pictures every 2-3 weeks is key. There's nothing like visual affirmation to get you going. However, those who can't take pics should know that measurements are just as good.
2)Should our first challenge blog be about our goals, what we hope to accomplish within these 9 weeks? I'm not talking necessarily about just dropping lbs because a goal is a a goal, no matter how big or small. Sometimes we need a reminder.

I'd love to do this, but even with eating clean I doubt I'd improve my abs as I'm in the middle of a heavy bulk, I'm cutting after christmas though!
Good luck to all that take part!!

My Before pics Goals and what not
I took my pics on Saturday which was probably a bad idea because I ate like a pig yesterday. LOL One last hoorah! My goals are to get down between 190 and 185 lean but carrying a lot of muscle. I weigh in at 202 right now so I think it is doable. I am going to be doing a light weight high volume full body lifting circuit for my weight lifting 3 times a week, that will double as cardio on those days. The days in between I will be doing cardio and my martial arts. I will have a high activity level so this will be the extent of my training. Follow a high protein, mod car and fat diet between 2200-2600 cals a day.
My other goals are to increase speed and anaerobic endurance.
Here are my before pictures.

I'll have my pics up by tomorrow evening! The hubby is working late tonight. How was everyone's day? Stay on track? I got in about 40 minutes of cardio. My diet wasn't great but I can't expect perfect right away!

I'm in
Count me in on the challenge. When do I need to post my first pics? Also, are we sticking to the two cheat meals per month or did we change to 2 per week?
If you eat 6 days a week for 7 days, that's 42 meals. Even at 3 cheat meals a week (a breakfast, a lunch, and a dinner), that's 93% of the time you're eating clean. It is hard to go from 2 clean meals a month to only 2 cheat meals a month.
Thoughts?

Also we can only have 2 cheat meals from now until Dec 24 yes this is hard as you can see some of us already uses one of those meals up but this is the challenge.. check out 12weekhardbody post on this forum.. she breaks it down for all us that are a little slow to change.. me included
Keep on Moving everyone!!!

Here's how my day shook out:
Got in 22 minutes of cardio. Was looking for 30, but got a phone call regarding the school'd big auction Saturday night at which I'm volunteering. The cut my time. bummer. Had to get to a hair appt and do the mom taxi gig.
Clean eats! Although I wanted a glass of wine once my 10yo boy started in about school work crap. Enough already. But I didn't cave in. Trying to think of something to eat right now before bedy-by and while watching Comedy Central's coverage of the election. (Update: cottage cheese with some canned pumpkin with pie spice and splenda. OK. made it too sweet.)
Tomorrow will be upper body. Probably not too much time for extra cardio. I am concerned about by right shoiulder. Pain woke me up during the night. It feels like an impengement I had a few years ago. uh-oh. No un-clean eats in sight. Friday night and Saturday night -- non-clean eats/drinks in sight -- in MODERATION!
Have a great night!
Monica

Update
I went out of town over the weekend. Planned my foods for the most part. Took them with me and managed to eat clean all weekend. I'll be leaving again Friday and be gone through Sunday. The following weekend I'll do the same. I plan my meals so I can eat when I am out of town.
I hope you all take a look at my blog for today. It may help some of you and may piss others off. My intentions are good (as always) but sometimes I do vent when I know people can reach their goals if only they would believe that they can.
WHETHER YOU THINK YOU CAN OR YOU CAN'T YOU ARE RIGHT

It was the great Henry Ford who said that! It's one of my favorite quotes to tell me son when he pulls the "I can't do it" crap. heading to your blog now...
Great job on keeping the clean eats going. You are an inspiration!

Attention Peanut Butter Lovers!
This is da bomb:
PB2 from Bell Plantaion in Tifton, GA
It is POWDERED peanut butter. 2 tbsp has 2.8g of fat (.55 of it Sat), 3.7g of carbs; 4.3g of protein. It contains peanuts, sugar and salt.
Here's their website: www.bellplantation.com.
just checked it out and they also sell a chocolate powdered pb! Holy Crap!!! Gotta love that. I've mixed it into my protein shakes with cocoa and sometimes a banana. You can mix it with water or directly into the jelly (SF of course) to put on your whole wheat/sprouted bread.

It's a new day......
Yesterday my blog was bitchy......today? Well it's a little more motivating. Check it out if you need an extra push from yourself!!
Today is my 23rd (i think) day of clean eating and i am adjusted. Normally I would get it in my head that I NEEDED (okay just wanted) to eat ****. While eating ****ty thing #1 i would already be thinking abtout ****ty thing #2. While eating ****ty thing #2 I would be thinking about shiity thing #3....... I could write this for-evah because I was the queen of eating ****ty things!! For several weeks now I no longer think about ****ty things (okay. EATING ****ty things). In fact I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner and I can only think of what clean eats to have.
Look I have cleaned up my plate..... now if I could only clean up my mouth :-)
