What should I send this scammer?
Misc,
I listed my old cell phone on craigslist, and received a response from someone who is obviously a scammer. Here's a cut and paste of his email:
"Hello,
I want your item for my wife who went for an Missionary at Christ Embassy Church in West Africa as a gift for the Pastors... So am willing to offer you $220 including the shipping via USPS (EMS) First class mail to her. .. Am presently out of town for a company assignment and i don't know when I will be back to the state and i don't want it to be late for her thats why i want you to help me with the shipping ...Get back to me with your PayPal account address (ID) and your name so i can send you the money there... hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks."
I told him to go ahead and send me the money to my paypal account, figuring that if he actually does send me the $ I will ship it to him. Sure enough I got a fake paypal "confirmation" this morning.
I'm going to play along with this guys scam and send him something hilarious. Right now I think I'm going to track down a Zack Morris old school cell phone, or just a regular cordless phone that is broken, cover it in dog ****, wrap it in saran wrap and mail it to him.
Anyone have any better ideas? I could jerk off on it or something?
Post ideas of things to ship him in this thread. I will take pictures of the final product before I ship it, and post them in this thread
Cliffs:
- got a new cell phone, listed my old one on craigslist
- received a response from someone who was obviously a scammer asking to pay by paypal
- i said ok, got a fake paypal deposit confirmation in my inbox
- going to ship him something hilarious
