    spondylolisthesis and lifting?

    i saw a nuero surgeon and was told i have severe spondylolisthesis. he told me no deadlifts and no squats,my question is what can i replace them with? what can give me mass in my back like deads? what can i replace squats with? the pain the last 3 weeks has been bad and i am taking a month off of lifting to heal up.I injured it deadlifting and the pains so bad i will never deadlift again.thanks for any help

    That is a severe injury, dude. I'd stay away from anything involving your back for a few months. I'd do some light stretches, icing, foam rolling, and chiropractic in this time period.

    I would find a good chiro or PT to show you rehab exercises that you will always need to do - and positions/postures you need to avoid.

    Over time, you'll be able to train all out again. But train SMART!

    thanks for the responses i start pt monday and get a steriod injection tuesday
