Not sure if I'm getting enough calories
I want to bulk up and put on some muscle and then eventually cut and lose the fat but I'm not sure if I'm even getting enough calories to bulk. Granted it's only been about 2 weeks since I started eating right, but I went out and got all entirely healthy food, nothing in boxes, and I'm eating between 5-6 times a day. The problem is my body's gotten used to eating every 2 hours so by that time I'm starving. On top of that, like I said before, I don't even know if I'm getting enough calories. Should I be meticulously measuring everything so I know? Cuz I tried that before and it was too tedious for me.
I'm 145 lbs, 5' 10" and am looking to add 20 lbs or more lbs of muscle in about 5 months or more. I'm just tired of being skinny lol and on top of that not having a 6-pack. (You can check out my progress picture on my profile)
Suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

20 lbs of muscle in 5 months is a very hard goal. also, dont expect your abs to show more bulking at that rate.

I understand it's a hard goal and if it take me longer then so be it, but I know Ryan Reynolds did it for Blade Trinity so I'm hoping it's somewhat attainable. But what I'm hoping for is some info on calories and how to make sure your getting enough. Is it necessary to measure everything or should I just eat as much as possible?

If you're not gaining weight, you are not eating enough. You don't need to measure anything. You should be able to get a feel for how much you are eating per day if you eat somewhat similar meals. Every day or so check the scale to see if you have went up. If you don't see gains after a few days, slowly up the portions.

His only task for the pre-production of that movie was to get into the shape he was. He had nutritionists, trainers, and anything else he needed at his fingertips. If all you have to do is train and get in shape, it will be quite easy. I hope you have a life though...

its a shame when people try to compare themselves to hollywood stars, models, etc; as you said...they have everything right at their fingertips.

so did you only start lifting recently (sounds that way from your profile)? if so don't expect to get gains overnight. in the first 3-6 months you are likely to get some noob gains which are great, but the name of the game is patients. just get a solid routine and nutrition plan and work hard and the size will come with time. and remember if you think you aren't taking in enough cals then yeah go ahead and bump them up but don't do this too quick or you will spend more time in the bathroom then in the gym.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I recently started to seriously work out. I've always worked out before with the same goal I have now but I used to make excuses to not work out if I wasn't in the mood and I regret it, now I'm not making any excuses. Do you guys recommend working out 6 days a week or 3? Right now I'm working out mon/wed/fri but I'm considering bumping it up to mon-sat
