overeating after constest
Hi everyone, I am two weeks post-contest and can't seem to reel myself in food wise. I am eating everything in sight, especially sugary things. I had two good days, but then a family member brought home a dessert and suggested that it's okay and to just eat it...something along the lines of 'you deserve it.'
I'm never hungry, but always eating.
I am curious if anyone has any advice on what steps they took to break the cycle of binging/overeating.
Thanks a bunch

Stock up on some delish sugar free treats and LOAD...LOAD...LOAD up on proteins/fats...cut your carbs. This will deplete your cravings. Good luck and congrats your your contest. What did you place? Anyhoot...congrats on just being there...can't wait til I muster up the balls to do that

Yep, I go through that each time. THIS time, however, my binges will consist of CLEAN foods. I'm ONLY going to let myself have sugary treats on the weekends. The rest of the time, I'm going into a clean bulk. I do NOT want to have to diet down this hard again...3 times is enough. I have problems dropping the bodyfat now that I'm in my mid 30's...that is motivation enough for me to NOT binge on sugar. As long as I have food...and lots of it...I think I'll be ok. Doesn't matter what that food IS. haha
I need to stay away from the natty PB, though. I can't get enough of it. lol

Yeah it's the carbs and sugar...the more you eat the more your body will crave it!! If anything it's more a willpower thing and getting yourself back in check. Maybe throw in a little extra healty fats like almonds, pb...that will help with the cravings. You might also want to cut carbs for a few days just to get the cravings out of your system.
Step on the scale that always brings me back to reality LOL!!
Good luck and congrats on your show!!

Thanks ladies! That is exactly what's happening, I'm addicted to carbs! I'll definetly get rid of the carbs in the next couple of days and stock up on the tuna and chicken--thanks for the advice.
And dido on the PB....I got some cashew macadamia butter and some hazelnut butter just to try something different, because the pb measurements are ridiculous...why do I even bother measuring, ha ha.
Bambifox-- I placed fourth in figure tall and got 1st in novice bodybuilding. It was an amazing experience.

Hi! Thank you very much, that is very nice of you. It's the first time I've done figure, and it was hard, wow. Plus the huge class too.
But yeah, time to get back on the dieting horse and get back in shape...it makes me feel so out of control and disordered when I'm just randomly eating.

Im a little over a month postcontest and Im finally getting into the swing of being offseason. I ate whatever I wanted for 2 days and then tried to get back into some swing of a regular diet. Trying to up my calories now. But I have had more of the opposite problem, trying not to be so strict with myself. I worry getting too lax will just make me go crazy or something, not sure. I have actually been eating a clean diet for 2-3 weeks now with only 1 cheat meal, but even on my cheat meal Im feeling guilty. Im not sure why Im having such a hard time this time around.
