Creatine 15 minutes before a workout?

Hey guys,

I know there are a lot of articles about creatine, especailly when to take it.
I'm new to the supplement and have been reading up on it a lot and asking around to more experienced users.

I recently talked to one personal trainer at my gym and he told a new trend for body builders is to take creatine about 15 minutes or so before then end of the workout because your blood is rushing and your muscles are more recpetive to take in and absorb the creatine right away.

I am not sure about it and I've read a lot just take creatine immediately after a workout work jus as well. I'll standardize things for everyone, we are talking about commonly marketed creatine monohydrate in powder form.

Any though would be great. Just trying to get the most out of my expensive supplements. Thanks

Given that creatine uptake is governed by activating the CTP via insulin elevation, and execise suppresses insulin release, this make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I would say post workout with dextrose (cause insulin spike). This kills to birds with one stone.
1. Replenishes depleted glycogen stores
2. Transport mechanism of nutrients in the blood stream

you don't need an insulin spike either. An insulinogenic protein source is just as good.

LOL, agreed.

I remember when mono first hit the high school scene. All the older guys were telling us to drink some PreWO with grape juice then put a small scoop under your tongue during your workout....

i think maybe what the guy was getting at was that your muscles are pumped, and if you take it during workout, it will be delivered better becuase of the blood floow. this isnt exactly true. but w/e. same idea as using your creatine along with an NO

Ya i think so too. I narrowed it down to creatie here because that's what i specifcally told him I was trying out, and as stated b4 we could probably argue this when to take it all day.

I think generally the PT was saying that post workout supplements meant to replenish the muscles and be absorbed in it are starting to be taken during optimal blood flow and muscle responsiveness. Right now I am just sticking to drinking right after more because of convenience.
