Pain in elbow during tricep extensions?

Yesterday I went to do my tris and I got a massive pain in my L elbow, it felt like it was going to tear, anyone else get this? What did you do to get healed? Thanks.

ice it, heat gel, do not do any tri movements... be very careful it sounds like one of the little nigglies that turns into big time off.

I found that going to heavy caused this for me. My advice: go lighter and aim for a slow controlled motion.

Skullcrushers for me caused elbow problems and especially if you go heavy. As everyone has said have a break, use ice and go lighter.

I started doing One Arm Supinated Dumbbell Triceps Extension, see the exercise section.

Look after yourself.

You said that you were doing triceps extensions. Were you actually doing skullcrushers: http://exrx.net/WeightExercises/Tric...gTriExtSC.html

I've found lying triceps extensions to be much more comfortable on my elbows: http://exrx.net/WeightExercises/Tric...ingTriExt.html
Some of the stress is placed into the shoulder joints and not just the elbows.

Sounds like elbow tendonitis. I've had the same problem from doing extensions; just cut out any exercise where you feel discomfort and rest it for a little while, and it will eventually subside.

I had the same thing a while back. Definitely go lighter and controlled.
