Just went back through your log and right now I'm just about where you were when you switched. Nice to know there is still a lot of progress to be had even after you hit a wall on 5 rep intensity sets.

I think switching to something like triples or doubles is a smart choice after stalling with sets of five.
I like triples a lot. Especially since I have been making great gains with them. Sets of five are alright, but I have been doing them for as long as I have trained, and I get enough of them with the volume workouts.SFW

Haven't seem this in a while, got all 3!
Maybe you could do speed pulls one week and triple pr next?
edit: you must be tired, you put volume as the title hahatrying to get strong again

OK dude, the only way I got through my squat tonight was the drive to not fall behind. So let's see it...417.5...
Also, you're probably there on bench or super close. I got 295 once and I don't think I even managed 270x3 at the time.PL Journal:

Awesome squatting man. I love seeing the plates bounce at the top, you know it's heavy when it's doing that.

I love doing it, sometimes don't like feeling it. Explode up, shake the weights: Weights slam back down on you! One time I wasn't expecting it and the added strain felt pretty crappy on my lower back, probably shouldn't have done it with my 5RM.
Great work RipCJ. I'll be there... 1 day.My log http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=149523363
