Protein Intake recommendation needed!!!

Hello. I have read a few threads and articles online regarding Protein consumption recommendations and I am still kind of cloudy. So I come to my newly adopted family here in the BodyBuilding Forums.

How many proteins should I intake?

My current stats:
Age: 31
Height: 6'-1" (72")
Weight: 258lbs
Body Fat: 31%

I plan to burn fat, build muscle, and PLENTY of cardio (1-2 miles at least 3 days per week).

Some articles say 2.2 grams per pound of body weight, some say 1.5, some say 1! How will be I able to tell if I am consuming the correct amount of Proteins?

The general recommendation around here is 1-1.5g/lb of bodyweight. Some will insist on the 1.5g/lb, others will say that 1g/lb is all you need. It's really dependant on you personally...I would say to try anywhere between 250 and 350 grams a day and see how that goes for you
