Legs three times a week
Has anyone known anyone to do this?
I have been doing legs on Monday and Friday. I beat them down pretty good on both days. I want to add a third day in there.
I get mixed opinions on this. Some people say hell no. Some say........ Some people say it's your body and it will tell you if its capable of doing that.
All I know is by Wednesday after Mondays leg workout I feel totally recovered.
So I am wondering what other people on here think about this.

I know I would not do legs 3x a week. You are training your other body parts on the other days right?

Well see thats where the question comes into play. I a lot of people that hit them 2 times a week. Thats how I do it. Like I said, Monday and Friday, but come Wednesday, right in the middle, I feel like I could totally throw another leg day in there. I feel totally rested come that day.
So I honestly dont see why I couldnt add a third leg day. Its all about what our body is telling us right? Knowing our body? Knowing what we can push it to?

Lots of good programs do 3x a week.
It would almost have to be low volume work though. I couldn't imagine doing a volume leg workout 3 times a week.

sure you can do legs 3 times a week, i do it now. ive done legs 1 time, 2 times and 3 times and i feel 3x a week is best for every muscle. you just have to learn how to regulate your volume and intensity.
for example. if your leg workout consisted of 10 sets totoal and you were taking all them to failure. you would never recover from 3 sessions a week.
however if you were doing something like 3x5 with the same weight where the last set/ last rep was near or 2 failure. you can hit that 3 times a week no problem.

You said that you feel fully recovered on Wednesday, so yes, do a third leg day.
If it is too much, you'll know.
I don't even believe that you have to be fully recovered to train a muscle again.

I hit legs twice, however your body will adapt to almost anything you throw at it and I know alot of oly lifters and other programs call for 3 per week squatting.
bottome line: Just try it out for yourself and see how it goes, you might not be able to recover enough, if so then just ditch it for 2 per week again, or maybe you respond better to that and start gaining.

Some aussie lifters do legs everyday!
But being realistic here, Ive had good results in the past with such a format (legs only)
mon:
tues:
wed: squats + 3-4 exercises of other leg work
thurs:
fri: box squats + RDLs / stiff legged deads
sat:
sun: squats + leg press + GHR
Had success with that in the past, keep in mind it was a bit more of a athletic workout template, however point is 3x can work depending on the person.

I don't know how one can exert so little intensity as to be able to train legs 3x weekly. God bless ya if you can manage it. I like to be able to walk 5 days out of the week.

Do one session and train them harder. A hardcore leg session is not about heavy weight. To me its about high reps, slow reps, squeezing, forced reps and drop sets (basically anything to increase intensity), all amounting to an agonising burn that should leave you feeling f*cked untill the next workout.

I sometimes trained them 3 times a week in the off-season(hockey player) because they are really important for me, I didn't have any problems, so if you think you can do it then go ahead

I dont got for heavy weight. I mean I do push my legs but its not all about weight. Form is always foremost in my game. Then weight.
