How full of **** some of the so called "good bros" around here are?
I seriously can't stand this anymore. I'm not naming names (yet ) but even the most respected companies and company reps on this board spread information that is simply wrong, worthless, or irrelevant to the topic discussed (shameless pimping).
I know that most of you have to feel the same way...
But for the sake of learning, saving money, and not getting screwed...
Would you guys support me if I were to "call out" the best of the best "good bros"?
I can think of a few of the most popular companies around here that should have been chastised for spreading bull**** LONG AGO.
I'm not talking about bashing MT, or BSN, or even SSE.... I'm talking about going after our "good bros".
The point of doing so would be to promote research. These forums used to be a valuable place to come and spread knowledge. Today the only people considered "knowledgeable" are reps, who probably no nothing more about biology, chemistry, or the human body than the average idiot.... but since they've been around for a while, they maintain a "good bro" status, nobody attacks them.
I am not a rep
I am not held back by the rules that say reps can't bash
Anyone interested? Without a decent amount of people behind this, it won't go anywhere. I'm just sick of sitting back and watching new members come here to learn... and be steered in the wrong direction by a rep who is bias towards their own products. Time to put the consumer back in charge!
Who wants callouts this week?

The truth is that many reps pimp their products in any applicable thread. It has been that way for a couple years and is not likely to change. Moreover, the rules regarding other reps not being able to bash other products just hinders the actual good reps from correcting the 'false' pimps. I personally do not even bother going into most threads anymore. I search for the questions applicable to my company, and answer those.
Life is too short to be so mad though.

On a related note I see some of the high post count members who use the term "In my opinion"(IMO) entirely too much. They make a recommendation that could be slightly controversial because they have a read a guru make the claim and instead of bothering to read the science or reasoning they attach IMO so that they can back on to "personal anecdotal evidence" if questioned. When you make a recommendation for a supplement/diet/training it should be based on science, not your opinion which is probably an echo of whatever else the majority are saying on the forums. A bit of a rant.
And sure I'm with you, questioning things can be nothing but good at all times.

Gotcha. I actually wish des could post in more threads like the ones I plan on making. Des actually knows what he's talking about. I've said it before, there's a difference between a company who pride themselves in digging up pubmed abstracts versus people like Des who appreciate the science behind our supplements, and get their knowledge and understanding from primary research.
I just hate sitting back and watching people get screwed over. I have yet to get screwed over mainly because I actually learned a great deal when I first started coming here... but now it's more of a place for companies to get free exposure to their consumer base.

DEF agree with callouts. Im sick of seeing inaccurate information being posted and "pimped" out to anybody who even mentions their product or refers to it.
