Snow Bowl in AZ So just a bit south..
The boots are really nice. The only issue I had was sock related, one of them folded up on itself and was rubbing against my shin later in the day, but that's got nothing to do with the boots and takes 30 seconds to adjust.

"Yo, come on, we're Arizona State. They wouldn't give him (President Obama) a degree? Really? I mean, even if they offered him one, he should've been insulted. He'd be like, 'I went to Harvard.' I mean, come on, I barely went to class, and they passed me. It's Arizona [expletive] State!" - Terrell Suggs

Hello all, read through the last few pages and some of the pictures look amazing ...
= heaven
I guess a lot of people in the US that live near mountains can just go for the weekend? We don't get anything good in England so it's always a week holiday to Europe somewhere, we go to Val D'Isere in two weeks. Cannot wait!
All my pics are at uni so I dug up some of my favourite runs
Epaule du charvet (the steepest in the resort)
View from the top of the mountain at about 10,000ft
This is on the other side, you can see the dam right at the bottom of the valley
And this is my favourite ever lift, it takes you right to the peak of the mountain, and you have a run down to the bottom that is probably close to 10 miles long.
I think I've been to this place for 7 weeks now over the last 10 years and it is the best resport I've been to so far (still need to try out the big ones in North America... Whistler, Sun Valley, Banff, etc) I went to Vermont 4 years ago and it was so different, everyone had cars and just parked at the bottom, so strange!
My target is to perfect a 360 jump by the end of the holiday, hopefully no broken bones or anything. Might get an instructor.

What do you guys think about Jackson Hole, WY? My brother and I are planning to be there 1/17-1/22. How does the mountain compare to Vail/Keystone/Breck etc?
Never been to Jackson Hole, first time going there. Other places we were considering are Heavenly. Right now it seems like its balls cold at Jackson hole.
Plan is to ski for 4-5 days and then Mexico for 9 days. Mexico is already booked, now just need a ski destination.
Thanks for the help guys!

So you are looking to purchase it? Whoever you are buying it from should be able to give a description of the boots and bindings since that can make a big difference in the price. Based on the year of the gear I would try to go a little lower, but definitely no higher then 150. I would try to get it cheaper because the boots have got to be warn so the support in them is not going to be great, and the bindings from that year have to been warn too. Do you know ruffly how often this person rode. Any one can easily tell you a board is in good shape but you don't know how often or how hard they rode it. There could be stress fractures within the board or water logging in the core. You wouldn't know that from looking at it. Just some things to think about.
Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines.

Hi again everyone,
Just thinking of a few thing I need before I go, my last set of goggles got smashed last year and I need some replacements, I was thinking of getting sunglasses, but every time I ski fast I get freezing cold air circulating in my eye and it makes it impossible to see properly...
anyone got any good examples of sunglasses that can prevent this?

Just got back from Tahoe - they've got about 3-4 feet more snow than we got in Jackson so far... but it has been snowing here today (finally!) and looks like we might be getting a decent size storm over New Years.
I'll be up on the mountain the next few days so I'll be sure to post up a report on conditions here.

Im looking at the following...
-Whistler (highly unlikely this year, more like next year for 10 day trip and ski 7)
-Telluride
-Jackson Hole (hit up Kirkwood)
-Heavenly (Lake Tahoe)
-and then there's the Vail/Breck/A-Basin/Keystone area.
Anyone have any more info on Telluride? The new lift for one of the bowls definitely is a big plus.
Im still monitoring Jackson Hole as this was the first place we wanted to go to. The more challanging the terrain the better.
nwskier- thanks for the PM's... they definitely have helped. I spent most of my workday looking at Whistler... lol. That place blows my mind away.

FYI- Kirkwood is about 45min from South Lake Tahoe
Utah is getting hit with some decent snow atm - may also want to check out Snowbird and Alta.
If you are considering Telluride- make sure you book a day in advance at Silverton (or more). Lift-accessed backcountry guided tours. Sick terrain, some of the best in the lower 48 and they've been getting pounded with snow. A bit on the spendy side, but i'm sure you'll find it worth it.
^ those are all badass, but a bit more difficult to get to for him from Chicago. I've skied Red and WH20 the past couple years and had some amazing times there. Just talked to a buddy of mine at Revy and it's going off up there. I'm finally getting to Banff & KH in April through work. So. F'king. Stoked!
btw, when r u headed up to Revy? I toured at Rogers Pass a few years ago. insane terrain!
