Ok I been on keto for 6 weeks now and first few weeks were awesome. Dropped weight (mainly water weight) like crazy. Then came my first carb up after 2 weeks. weight came back up but noticed mirror change, so i figured i lost fat. Now i weigh the same as i started but def more define but the fat in my mid section stayed the same. I am taking around 20-25g carbs per day with total of 2200-2300cal per day. That is -500cal deficient for me. It seems I have stalled and what would be the reason for this? I do cardio after my workout, and train 3/week heavy. I carb up every week for 24hrs.

I am curious as to what kind of keto foods you are eating. I have a feeling that they are chemical laced foods mostly.
I stalled on keto this spring and went to another program. called the Warrior Diet.
I found out that on keto I was eating packaged keto foods with ingredients that I couldn't pronounce listed on the side of the food label. These are chemicals added to foods by companies to make the food last longer and taste better mimic the female hormone estrogen in the body and lead to fat gain and more and more problems.Last edited by Bo DeLone; 10-10-2008 at 03:54 AM.

Warrior Diet? Is it the one big meal a day? If it is, then it is similar to IF.
IF is basicly when you fast during the day. You fast from 9pm to 1pm the next day. You eat your keto meals from 1pm to 9pm. That helped me lose body fat when regular keto alone did not work for me. I would say I ate just like the original poster but did not lose so I decided to try IF.

Maybe 2200 calories a day WAS a calorie deficit on your old diet, but it's not anymore. If it was, you'd be losing weight. So reduce your calories.
If you're eating that much because you're hungry, that probably means you don't have enough fat in your diet. Are you getting at least 65% of your calories from fat? Why not try 70% or 75%?***Don't make keto dieting so damned complicated. At least 65% of calories from fat. No more than 25g of carbs per day. Eat when you're hungry. Stop when you're no longer hungry. End of story.***

Yeah the Warrior Diet is similar to IF. I agree with you on fasting or undereating phases to lose weight.
I was doing keto for months early this year and my keto fat loss stalled out and I went into the Warrior Diet (alternating low carb and high carb nights) and this really was the best way to eat and live IMO. This all went down in my bodyblog this spring and I really believe in Ori Hofmekler's books and radio show.

thanks for the replies
more cardio? ill try that
my weight is similar to when i started minus few fat + some muscles. so i thought keeping cals similar was fine.
my days goes like this
Breakfast: 5 eggs, 45g mayo - 270cal + 300cal = 570cal
Lunch: Beef patty with broccoli- 300-350cal
Meal 3 - Beef patty - 300cal
Meal 4 - 1/2 sausage or 1/2 beef - 150-200cal
Meal 5 - other half 150cal
Meal 6- Cottage Cheese with 42g peanut butter - 320cal
thats comes to 1800-1900...sometimes i have the keto cheese cake which is 200cal
so actually i was consuming less then i thought...workout 3/week with cardio after each workout. heart rate 120-130 burning around 250-300cal for 20-25min

That's a pretty good-looking keto diet, IMO. Just cut down on calories and/or increase the cardio a bit, and you're there.
