taking a week off from weight lifting?

i been lifting weights alll summer, with 2 days rest after working out for 2 days..

i hear that it is good to take a week off every couple months or so?
im thinkin about taking the week off...my question here is, will i lose any size?
exactly how long does it take for muscle to start fading away? i feel a bit smaller than usual lol, but is that just a mental thing? or is it really starting to fade away?
    thanks in advance

and dont lift, no matter your urge, just take the week off, it'll seem strange that you're not lifting on your regular schedule but do it.

you're not going to lose and strength or muscle, if you've lifted right, you'll come back stronger.

That is hard to resist, I have trouble taking 1 day off. IMO, overtrain before you take the week off, just my opinion though. Many will disagree. Don't severely overtrain but maybe work a specific muscle group every other day for 3 workouts maybe. It works for some people.

No it takes 3 weeks. However taking a week off will do wonders for your CNS and make you feel fantastic once you get back at the weights.

If you feel you need a week off then do it, if your just taking one off because people say its good for your muscles then dont, its pretty pointless imo unless its needed.

A week off or with drastically reduced volume is every 4-5 weeks is going to help maintain consistent, high intensity training and will help you prevent plateauing.
