Man's Body Hair
Bro, from my point of view (I'm a GWM), body hair on a man can be extremely hot - depending mostly on the body under the hair. But this comes from my being naturally hairless. Grass always greener, huh?

i mean of course do what you want. but if it's your gf why would you not give it a try just for fun? it's not like you couldn't change your mind and shave it one day.
hell, use it as an opportunity. be like "ok i'll grow out my hair if you do (insert kinky sexual favor here) for me"

Eww no way
Shave that crap man! I don't know about anyone else, but hair on my chest, stomach, and arms just makes me sweat more and feels sticky. I HATE IT! Fortunately for me my GF hates it too. Plus, if you don't shave, that just gives HER an excuse to not shave (UNACCEPTABLE!) Don't let it happen man!

Personally I like my hair, its manly, guyish and looks cool. I have hairy knuckles, and a line of hair that starts in the middle of my chest and goes all the way down.

I grow more hair than the majority of men. I mean I am simply one hairy bastard. I grow hair that is thick and full at just about every spot on my body except for the tip of my dick, forehead, ears, nose, just under my eyes, and the bottom of my feet.
With that being said, I cut everything off my shoulders, back, and upper arms - and I trim my torso, but never completely shave it. I just let my leg, arm, and facial hair grow.
All that aside, do what you want. Your relationship should be about sharing a part of your life with your partner, not giving all your life to your partner.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and ask, WTF is the big deal about growing it?
Unless your hair bothers you in some real way (like it gets sweaty or somehow interferes with your life) I see no reason why you can't grow it for her. I know that everyone here thinks you need to "do everything for yourself" and "never supplicate" but in reality relationships are about compromise and this should be a VERY small compromise to you but it might be VERY big to her. Think about the reciprocal situation - what if you wanted her to get rid of, for example, the hair on her upper lip? You probably manage to live with it, but it sure would make her a hell of a lot hotter if she took care of it, and it doesn't seem all that difficult or time consuming. In return you would probably be much more willing to do something for her.
I think that if you are unwilling to change your appearance for your significant other then it is more a sign of insecurity than confidence/alphaness or whatever you guys seem to think. It comes down to the fact that the person is unwilling to hear that they are anything less than perfect in their partner's eyes and that makes them feel insecure.
If you really like your hair, by all means keep it. But take a really close look at why you do and ask yourself whether it means as much to you as it does to her.

Tell her to stop shaving.
If she's not willing, why should you be?

If you are not competing...
Funny how ALPHA gets thrown around here so much.... how people talk about the pussification of american men... and then 95% of these guys shave their ****in legs and balls. Hypocritical jokes!
I trim my chest hair every month or two. Clippers and some good hedgework is all you need. The rest of you guys need a better father figure.

Its your body hair, I think you should shave it or not as you wish. Its not up to anyone else to choose. That goes for girls too btw, before everyone starts having a go at me about bushes and what have you.
Having said that, if your gf thinks its sexy, she might be more sexually adventurous as a result?

^ Statements like this are why you should never take advice from a woman.
You "compromise" on choosing a restaraunt to go out to dinner @ on a Saturday night... you "compromise" on what is considered acceptable in terms of your relationships with friends of the oppostie sex... you "compromise" on how much time you spend together... you don't compromise on your personal appearance.
OP... I would no more think I have the right to tell my GF how to cut/style her hair, what color to dye it, etc... then I would allow her to tell me if I should shave my body. I might tell her I like one hairstyle over another, but that would be as far as it goes.
Just do what you want man... this isn't something she gets a say in.

thinking of shaving my chest for the first time. Im not a really hairy bastard but I have enough hair that im just curious to see how Id look without it. Whats the deal with shaving your pits tho? Am I the only one who finds this a little too female? Maybe im just not used to shaving yet, I dunno. Do the majority of guys here shave their underarms when they shave there torso? Maybe just a little trim action for the underarms? Thats what im thinkin...
