serious sweet tooth
I have a serious sweet tooth issue and really don't know what to do. I am spot on with foods and balance until i'm home or stressed out. i now crave sweets immediately after every meal, i don't really understand why. I've never had this issue... any ideas or help or tricks?!

Could it be from the contents of the meal itself? Too many carbs or too few carbs?
Anyway, besides just dealing with it, do some activity, brush your teeth, chew some gum, or find smaller portions of your vice and milk it - like small hard candies.

2 tbsp peanut butter helps me, or ill have a handful of almonds or walnuts. When im on a cut, after a few weeks my carb cravings get pretty bad. Not even carbs like bread or pasta, but bad things like reeses and snickers. Im not a candy person either but when you havent eaten carbs at all, they look delicious. The number one weapon you can use to avoid sweet tooth while dieting is WILLPOWER.

x3, though I'm getting a little bit better at it. Though it took me a good 2 years of following the "if its not in my pantry i can't eat it rule" to develop the level of discipline to resist my roommates ruffles, nachos + salsa, and chocolate chip cookies downstairs. I just keep telling myself that the feeling of guilt and being bloated causing it to make me feel crappy ALL day simply isn't worth it.

A can of diet pepsi cherry usually does the trick for me If that fails, or if your craving is for chocolate...have chocolate....but only the sugar free kind. I usually have 1-2 pieces of Brach's SF peppermint patties during that TOM. Its only 60 calories or less...and really knocks out my craving for chocolate. It has less than 2 NET carbs.
I'm really not a "fan" of deprevation of any kind. I find it unnecessary...when we live in a time where there's so many healthier choices for your favorite treats. Denial leads to gorging IMHO...and also stress. Enjoy...moderation is key anyways.

I used to experience this really badly until I cut out artificial sweeteners. Now I very rarely crave sweets and stuff tastes sweeter. That?s just me though.

I know exactly how you feel, i love dessert and it's so hard to cut it out, but i found a solution that works amazing for me. Sludge is the answer. You'll find some recipes on the forums or on Youtube if you look it up, but my personal taste involves:
2 Scoops On Whey Protein (chocolate)
Spoon full of smooth natural peanut butter
A cup or so of fruit, i use blueberries
and water for desired consistancy
Stir it all up until the protein is mixed, you'll get a pancake batter like mixture. Curves a sweet tooth and is not bad for you.
Tastes like ice cream if you chill it for a bit

thanks for all the insight. I have tried the whole don't buy it and it won't be in the house thing, and it works for a while then i just man up (so to speak) and buy it on the way home from work. I think it all comes down to the will power and preparation. I know that when I had prepared meals all set up I strayed less. I just have to commit and organize.
Thanks again

Thats right you have to be mentally strong for this. Controlling ourselves is a skill .
