    How often should you increase weight?

    Lets say I do 180lb bench this week, should I increase more weight next week? How often should you increase weight? Is it when you feel like you can push the increased amount of forget that and increase it anyways and push it somehow... but then get less reps.

    For me if i can finish all my reps and sets of 'x' amount of weight the next week i will add 5 to 10 pounds and really push to get in all my sets and reps . Start at 5 and if its easy enough add another 5 pounds , or if they have 2.5 even better. Good luck.

    do 180 this week, then next monday try 185, or if u did last week 2x5x180 and 1x3x180 (failed for 5) then this week try 3 or 4 sets of 5 with 180.

    This depends on your goal. What i usualy doe is 2 warm up sets,attempt to beat my last one rep max by whatever say 5-10 pounds then keep within my 8-12 rep range afterwards,if i fail to get 8 reps i drop the weight and go at it again.

    you can be using some weight and if your working around in the 10 rep range you can go by that so say if your able to get 11-12 reps with that weight then you can increase the weight so your working to get to 10 reps again but then its kind of annoying gaining strength sometimes because 1 week you might be really jacked and lift more weight than your able to the following week so its kind of a hill that will rise and dip but will head in an overall upward direction.
