    elbow pain during skullcrushers

is there anything i can do to stop or lessen the pain in my right elbow i get while doing skullcrushers?

it hurts pretty bad, but only during the set and for a few seconds afterwards. i always get it on the 2-3 rep, and im like, i gotta finish this set, so i keep going to 8-10 anyway.

i was thinking about some kind of elbow wrap thing but my friend said that wont do anything.

    help?

Probably a good reason to find a different exercise.

If its not an overtraining or bad form issue. Maybe weak forearms or weak compared to the rest of your body. Forearms are easily overlooked on many peoples workout plans and they should not be because they are the foundation on which you hold the weight on a lot of exercises.

Are you doing them on a straight bar? An EZ curl bar may help. otherwise, stop doing them. Skull crushers put a lot of strain on the elbow. There are many other tricep exercises that wont cause that pain and will work just as well.

Decline skull crushers will take the strain off the elbow and also target the tris better.

You can try an elbow wrap i m not sure whether it will stop the pain altogether but it should minimise it somewhat, also what has been said about switching to a different tricep exercise might be better and easier on the elbow joint.

When i had a pain in my elbows a while back i found that skull crushers were making them worse and then i switched to doing close grip bench press and i was fine and had no pain from that.

I think because of the angle that my arms were during the movement decreased the pain i was having good luck man.

I wouldnt do skull crushers all the time. I gotta say they are one of the best tricep builders, but they can cause tendinitis/tennis elbow. Just try laying off for a bit and see how you feel
