For the most part, I would say yes. I believe the average age of one's first experience of sexual intercourse is around 16 or so. The average age with which one enters into marriage is in the mid-twenties so....

The United States isn't really any different from any other post-industrial Western state in regards to this aspect.

Im still a virgin, Ive never had any form of sexual interecourse, no BJ's, no PIITB, no nothing, Complete virgin. Im a Virgin by choice though becuase I have had several oppurtunities to lose my virginity back when I was in High School and I refrained (no homo). I dont believe in Pre-Marital sex and I think a lot of problems with todays society could be solved by just waiting till your married. I also refuse to masturbate, I have finnaly conquered the sinful habit of masturbation and porn and its been 2 months since I last jacked off or looked at porn. The last time I jacked off was in July.

The truth of the matter is that having pre-marital sex happens and most people that want to be religious will just pretend it is alright. All they want is a magical afterlife and a warm feeling whenever they think about an omniscient being forgiving them for whatever failures they have, why work for something when you can be forgiven for just trying.

The bible/torah/qur'an/buddhavacana/lao tzu says one thing, the translation says another, and most people [that take it as a religious text] translate it to themselves again to rationalize everything they do.

Both, If you take my religious beliefs away I still HATE porn. To me, Porn is vile and disgusting. It has contributed nothing to society but to degrade sex and women. See then it IS completely based on religious beliefs. If thats the case, there is no reasoning with you because your world view has been distorted by your religion. There is no such thing as "sin"...mental and physical health of nothing to do with "sin". There is nothing unhealthy about jacking off if you are viewing it from a non religious stand point.

Being "proud" of not jacking off is like being proud of not playing video games a few times a week. There is nothing wrong with either of them and they can both lend to psycological health. You are just trying to squash a completely natural urge thats genetically programmed in to us. No reason to go against it.

Put down the Bible and live your life man, maybe there is a god, maybe there isn't, but I assure you that no religion has it right.

I just don't buy into the fact that god gives a flying **** about our primitive affairs. He is a supreme being if he has such a power then why would our microcosm of a world be under the microscope for his intervention at any point in our daily being. I lost my virginity at the age of nineteen and believe fate brought me the the fork in the road and whether or not I choose either path, that one path is a the right path according to "god's" laws because he created me to evolve in such circumstances. He cannot program into us natural instinct then expect us to follow geographical doctrine based on whats taught here or there. That esstentially is cheating us of rational thought and choice which he instilled in us as advanced species.
