Hey guys,
I'm 22 and I just started lifting to gain muscle. I've been @ it hard for 3 weeks now, 5x a week with a legs day, chest/tri/shoulders day and arms/back day. Recently I've had some trouble sleeping and waking up with growing pains. Is this most likely a good sign? Or a sign of overtraining? I know GH is relaeased @ night...but somehow I don't think you could FEEL this sensation, correct? I don't think I'm overtrained. I do 9 sets per body part, 8 reps. I feel great, not very sore in the smaller muscles and I'm always reayd to go fullblast @ the gym. Anything to worry about?

Good job on the working out so far.
You should not be too worried about overtraining.
When you lift weights, you should be able to make progress every workout in some form or other whether it be reps or weight.
When this progress stop, if you have a well thought out lifting plan, you should look at your diet.
If you are not eating enough, your gains will slow.
When you have exhausted all attempts at proper diet and lifting and progress stops, then you can think about overtraining.
Until then, which should be a couple of years from now, take some motrin and go back to sleep and quit worrying about stuff you read here.
Train hard and eat right and you will make progress. Expect alot out of yourself and you will be happy with the results."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
