i dunno, times changed. Back then everyone pretty much married and lived with the equivalent of their highschool sweetheart or had the thing arranged and probably got married right when they hit puberty, so it was very possible. Think about it, you moved around so little, you probably new your future wife years before you married her, especially if you lived in a village or small town.
