Question Exercises for legs with really bad knees.

Growing up I was very overweight (230lbs.) and I dislocated my knees all the time, instead of going to the doctor I will just push them back into place. Needless to say now that I'm older(28yrs.) my knees are very weak. I wanna build muscles in my legs, specially the back of my legs and buttocks but every time I start lifting my knees start to hurt, last year I ended up at the E.R. I finished my workouk routine, sat down in bed and when I tried to get up it felt like I dislocated it, I tried to "fix it" my self but it was a sprained. Is there any exercises or technique I can do without having to use my knees that much?
When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place.

I suggest seeing a medical professional. You may have severe damage to connective tissues in the area.

Most if not all lower body movements will place pressure on the knees.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

Something else that might help, is trying to lose some weight, and that can help put less pressure on your knees. But yeah, see a doctor.
