Improvements for my push up routine?

I've been going to the gym for about 4 months, and I find my progress okay.
Today I decided to start including push ups as well. Here's what I did:

Note that I went to failure on each set
    19 reps, 90 seconds rest
    10 reps, 90 seconds rest
    9 reps, 90 seconds rest
6 reps, 4 reps on knees

    First off, aren't 19 reps too low? I'm 19 yo, 5' 9.5 and 141 lbs
Second, do you suggest any changes to the number of reps, sets or rest time?

    Thanks

if you want to get strong then start benching , do some low rep work. if you increase your 1 RM you will be able to do more pushups too. you are quite skinny, you need to build some mass

I do mine lying face-up on a bench with a barbell

If you're benching, why do you need to do pushups? I understand if you're in the military or the like, but aside from that, why do you feel the need?
