When myosatin comes in to play...
ive recently been thinking about this and see some problems if it does become something used. What would bodybuilders do as far as abdominal muscle? considering muscle would easily hold, their stomachs would look way too blocky and beefy, anyone have any thoughts on this and other inherent problems?

thats not what im talking about though, myosatin gene modification is the "double muscle" that you hear of, the problem i see is abdominal muscle would easily grow and grow causing some nasty looking midsections. Dunno if in proportion it would look good or not cause the appeal is for an out of proportion (tiny) waste.
Edit: just wanted peoples 2 cents on this as im sure in the next 10-20 years is will be common place or at least doable for those that want to.

myosatin research has been around since the 70's, it's just recycled information to make it look like it's the next big thing....I don't see anything replacing hgh/igf-1/insulin/aas for an extremely extremely long time. So don't worry about it.

I think there would be no problems, considering how far the current pros have taken their physiques.
The gene would make it easier for the bodybuilders to HOLD on to muscle and not Lose it as quick thus allowing them to use less drugs (haa haa)
I think it would be a positive thing and one step further in the evolution of bodybuilding.
But i think ass muscle would get out of hand you'd be seeing 50 pound butt cheeks gracing the stage....
No Thanks.

well myostatin is the future, how soon, i dont know, but i will tell you that it can be done and we might see 400lb BBer's in the next 10 yrs, however its in early stage develop, too little myostatin suppression and nothing happens, too much and you have cancer, so its a fine line between building 40% more muscle to getting tumors all over your body, also think about how the heart would react, would the cardiac muscle grow as well? i hope so, otherwise you are looking at a short life, but if they got it right, the results would be astronomical, and too answer your gut question, i would say yes that the core would grow as well, who knows what the end product bber would look like with AAS and myostatin suppression...5'10 400lbs 3% bf? Scary... **** in that case they better start making heavier dumbells, also think about how the tendons would take the abuse, or would they grow too? probably not

this, however i think the guys would be taller, because a 38inch waist on a 5'9 guy looks different then on a 6'2 guy. the height will make the monstrous muscle blend more, and allow for broader shoulders (due to a broader frame) that will keep the taper
my .02
also its still 10-20 years away but should be interesting

Myosatin deficiency doesn't increase strength, even with the added muscle...it also has recently be proven to not have an affect on the heart.

I wish it lasted, forever.

scientists claim to be able to do it, but i agree that it would be difficult to find one WILLING to do it.
scary stuff though, theres also significant evidence among respected scientists that in 20 years or so they SHOULD be able to genetically modify your DNA/genes whatever to allow you to stay at an age in terms of your appearance. i.e. look 20 even when your 90.
this wouldnt increase how long you live but its a crazy thought.
whether you believe it or not its scary stuff...

who cares about ethics when theres billions in play
the first one to engineer a myostatin deficient athlete (it doesnt have to be a bodybuilder) will be a billionaire

OH yea? How do figure this?

big question is, can this gene be modified and as a result "cure" different muscle diseases? If so there is no moral dilemma to use it on some humans, then others will get their hands on it.
