Very simply,
5x10 squats
or
3x10 squats followed by 3x10 leg press
I thought the squats would be, but I find myself less fatigued after doing it today then I normally am doing the squats + leg press.

Although many a good pair of quads have been built on just squats, you'll get more complete development by using several different exercises. If you are limited for some reason to just these two, try alternating; one week, squats, next week, squats and leg presses.
No brain, no gain.

I would do the squats and leg presses. In fact this is what I often do. The reason is simple. I cannot truly go to faliure with squats for fear of getting stuck under the bar, whereas I can go to faliure on the leg press which equals an awesome leg workout.

3x10 squats and 3x10 leg press is better but id do more than that in your leg work out its fine for quads but what about ur hammy's and clafs.
people ask me how to train, and i answer "i look at what you do and then i do the exact oposite"
if your family was captured and you were told you needed to put 100 pounds onto your max squat within two months or your family would be executed, would you squat once per week? Something tells me that you'd start squatting every day

Good points all... and reading this I'm thinkin' I need to start hitting my calves...
Figured it was kinda more for looks (like wrist curls, etc.) that I don't need to focus on as a beginner (< 6 months).
Time to hit that little calf machine tomorrow:)
I rep back.
Oh, you're "perma-bulking?" Good luck with that, fatass.
